A bit of this and a bit of that

I hope you all have been well, thank you so much for the comments on my last post, you guys were very helpful giving me loads of good ideas. I couldn't wait any longer to wear my jacket and today was the perfect day in London, not too cold, not too warm, the was sky is clear and gorgeous for most of the day.

So here is how I decided to wear the jacket, a mixture of basics and a bit of colour blocking with accessories. I think it was the perfect mix and I am very pleased with my purchase.

An impulsive buy ?

Julian Louie for Aldo

Hi guys,

A close up of my new wedges from the fantastic collaboration between Julian Louie and Aldo.
I was wearing them a few posts back and I was so lucky to find a pair, after reading pretty much everywhere they had been sold out. I love them truly and dearly, I think the print and the patchwork detail is amazing and I am so into navajo and ikat prints, so in my eyes they could not be more perfect!


It was real ♥ at first sight.


I was showing them to friend of mine and she said they were horrible! It really made me laugh because I think they are so amazing. How about you? What do you think of them?

Is it too early? H&M Autumn lookbook

Hi guys,

The Summer hasn't even started yet, not here in England anyway, fair enough we have had a taste of the Summer in London but for me (a Brazilian that loves the Summer) we are not quite there yet and surprisingly H&M has already released a teaser of their Autumn lookbook!
I think it's great to have the opportunity to see what next season is already holding for us, but isn't it too early? I can't stop thinking of Summer outfits, so I am not really paying that much attention to it, well that is just for now.

Cheap and cheerful

Hi guys,

In today's outfit post, I am wearing a huge pair of harem trousers. They are '1001 nights' full on, the proper look. I got them a while back, I think they came from one of those big tables at Portobello Market where everything was £2. They are so big that they can pass as a skirt. A peculiar thing about them, is that they have 'cuffs' on the ankles. I have never seen that before, funny isn't it? ( This also makes me think that they were made in India or China. They are indeed a very cheap garment, but cheap can also be fun.)

Talking about cheap, another bargain of the month, are my new wedges. I got them at Urban Outfitters. They were on sale for £40, I tried them on, I loved them but didn't want to part with my cash. Then about 2 weeks later they got reduced to £20, WOW! When I saw it on the website, I literally ran to UO to buy them. Luckily they still had them my size, as on the website they had already sold out.
The weird thing, is that now they are back on their sale price, which was £40. It really must have been my lucky day.
So far, they are also the most comfortable pair of wedges I own, because they are lighter and a little lower than the others. I am not the best person to walk on wedges anyways, but I am hoping practice will make perfect.

My orange and white outfit

Hi guys,

I hope you all have been well. Early this week I posted about orange and white, the colours that have won my heart this summer. On the very same day I could not resist passing by my local Zara and exchanging a top I had recently bought for one of the orange dresses.
I had already seen this draped dress a few times and each time it grew on me more and more. It's also a versatile style as it can be worn as a dress or tunic. This time, I have worn more as a tunic, with a pair of white jeans. The jeans were given to me by a friend a while ago, normally I wouldn't have bought them but I am so grateful to have them in my wardrobe now.
The clutch, I got last year, it was a sale bargain, real leather and only £6. It's was a strange colour to buy (the only available) but I am gonna rock it this summer for the first time.

Finally, I am wearing these amazing wedges a collaboration between Aldo and Julian Louie. I came across them not so long ago and therefore I thought they would be completely sold out, as many blogs had reported. Still, I attempted to get them and managed to snap the last pair in my size. The sales assistant at Aldo, was very helpful and said I was very lucky to be getting those shoes as they had never had a second delivery on them and that indeed they had sold pretty quickly.

Safety pin necklace idea

All you need is a chain, a safety pin and a pearl or any other interesting bead you may have lying around.

I'm back

Hi guys,

I hope you all have been well. As you guys can see I decided to take a little break from blogging, there was so much I needed to do that I had to have some time for myself.
First of all I had to really try to tidy my all my clothes, something I've been meaning to do for ages. It took me a couple of days to do this because I'm not the quickest person when it comes to being ruthless, chucking away old stuff and separating things to sell. I went through pretty much everything I got and as I was going through it all, it became a bit easier to start de-hoarding.
Anyways, I gathered a load of things and went to the Portobello Market to sell them all.


It was a good day, the weather was beautiful and therefore the market was very quiet, still I managed to sell a few bits (better than nothing) but came home with a bag full. Now, I'm thinking to sell the rest on Ebay, if I have enough patience for it.

In the meantime, I have also discovered a great, natural and cheap body scrub. Used coffee grains! Yeah, it's great to exfoliate the skin and also it's a good skin stimulator, so it works well against cellulite.
A friend of mine told me about it a while back, then last week after making a coffee on the cafetiere, I decided not to throw the used coffee away and gave it a try. I swear, my skin was so smooth, it almost fell like I had oiled my legs.
I simply applied the coffee directly on my skin and scrubbed myself in circular movements, the granules have a great consistency and are quite gentle. Don't worry you won't smell of coffee but I would recommend you to shower with a soap afterwards.

There are many options for a natural scrub, together with the coffee you can also mix brown sugar (for a coarser consistency) and almond oil but I think just the coffee on it's own work wonders anyways.
You can also let the coffee dry and store it in a jar afterwards, ready for the next time.
